Hinds – Easy Video

Hinds with their new video for “Easy”, directed by John Strong, showcase a darker, more emotional side to their music. The video centres on the self-annihilation that follows a breakup, with each member of the band spiralling downwards into abuse and addiction, in increasingly graphic ways. The final shots show a sliver of redemption though, with the band slowly but surely reclaiming their strength and independence, and the blooming of a rose showing the promise of a new beginning on the horizon.

Dream Wife – A New Signing & Kids

We are more than thrilled to announce the signing of Dream Wife, the most exciting new band in the UK.

London-based musicians Alice Go, Bella Podpadec and Icelandic singer Rakel Mjöll formed at art school in Brighton where they began to make music embracing their love for edgy pop. Oozing girl power the music juxtaposes simple pop hooks, cutting riffs and screamy dreamy vocals.

Today, Dream Wife share the new video for ‘Kids’, a track taken from their Cannibal Hymns released self-titled debut EP. The EP is available now on iTunes (here) and will be released on limited edition 12” vinyl on 29th July 2016. Filmed at Central St Martins in London and directed by Aidan Zamari, the video shows the members of Dream Wife occupying an abstract fantasy of sporting triumph.

Oscar – Good Things

On the eve of the release of his highly anticipated debut LP Cut and Paste, Oscar shares the video for new single “Good Things”.

Shot by acclaimed director Bryan Schlam it is a brilliantly off-beat,  surreal accompaniment to the track, in Oscar’s own words: “The song’s message is a positive one and so it seemed a good idea to contrast that nicely in the video with a Warhol-esque sequence of things going wrong! The little things in life that seem like failures have to be laughed at in order to move on and to see all the good things!”

“Cut and Paste” is released this Friday 13th May and can be pre-ordered now. There are exclusive bundles available at Oscar’s official online album retailers here and it can also be pre-ordered via iTunes.

Sebastien Tellier – La Ritournelle (Our Mother Mix)

Our Mother have today shared a remix of ‘La Ritournelle’ by Sébastian Tellier. Infusing their own heady and baroque video-game aesthetic into an indisputable classic in this new mix, Our Mother’s version of ‘La Ritournelle’ features exceptional bass and stabbing, staccato synths punctuating the now broken voice of Tellier. Hinting at the band’s fascination with the Berlin techno scene, they bring an air of the forlorn to an already beautifully melancholy track.

Rexy – Don’t Turn Me Away

Ramona Gonzalez, better known as Nite Jewel, Zoe Kravitz (Lolawolf), and Samantha Urbani (Friends) have teamed up to cover “Don’t Turn Me Away,” by  Rexy, giving the track a ‘80s-derived, R&B spin, that’s dripping with West Coast cool. Premiered by Pitchfork the collaboration comes fresh off the heels of our reissue of Rexy’s only album, Running Out Of Time in-conjunction with new label URU, spearheaded by Samantha Urbani.  Order Links: iTunesSpotifyBandcampRough TradePiccadillyOther Music
