Jessica Winter: My First Album

Alt-pop provocateur Jessica Winter‘s debut record, My First Album, is set for release on Friday 11th July and available to pre-order now.

Speaking about her debut album, Jessica said:

“My First Album is conceptually about ‘somebody’ aspiring to be a star and wanting to fill the void deep inside herself. Along the way there are various diversions and adventures, involving people, places, and things. Ultimately, however, she is on a journey of self-discovery and realisation, and that all she really needs is to love herself.

My First Album is Jessica’s long-awaited debut, following multiple years of critical acclaim. To date, Jessica has been featured and supported by the likes of The New York Times, GQ, Dazed, Rolling Stone US, Rolling Stone UK, The Guardian, The Times, CLASH, Dork, DIY, The Forty-Five, NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Gay Times, and Loud And Quiet. She has also been well-supported across BBC Radio 1 and 6Music.

On My First Album there are shades of Kylie Minogue and the glitter of 80s Madonna, there’s the flamboyance of Prince and Queen and there’s energy and occasional snarl of punk and the dreamy arched-eyebrow of psychedelia.

Jessica Winter is a British singer, songwriter, and producer known for her experimental pop music that blends elements from various genres, including pop, industrial, and indie. Often compared to the likes of Kylie, Robyn, and Grimes, to date, Jessica has released a series of EPs, including Limerence (2023), More Sad Music (2021), and Sad Music (2020), each showcasing her ability to infuse unconventional themes and introspective lyrics into pop song structures.

In addition to her solo projects, Winter has an extensive list of credits as a co-writer and producer, having collaborated with artists like The Horrors, The Big Moon, Jazmin Bean, Phoebe Green, Lauren Auder, Pre Goblin, Sundara Karma, Walt Disco, and Brodka.
