Gilligan Moss – Sia Remix

We are delighted to announce the signing of Gilligan Moss to our growing Publishing arm.

Gilligan is a 23 year old artist/writer/producer who has recently transplanted from his native Chicago to Brooklyn. He has been steadily producing a stream of acerbic electronic pop; the tone of which fits somewhere between the worlds of Caribou and LCD Soundsystem, but with a more urban vocal timbre.

Thus far he has released just two original tracks into the blog ether, alongside critically acclaimed remixes for Glass Animals, Christian Rich and Laura Doggett.

Gilligan will shortly announce his Records signing but, in the meantime, The Line of Best Fit have just premiered his outstanding remix of Sia‘s ‘Big Girls Cry’, which you can listen to below.

Lucky Number – Ten

We are thrilled to announce that we will be holding a birthday party show to celebrate our 10th year as an independent record label at Village Underground, London on Thursday July 23rd. Featuring Darwin Deez, Oscar, and some very special guests associated with the label.

We are delighted to be able to celebrate our 10th anniversary in such style. Anybody who has seen a Darwin Deez live show can testify that he always presents an absolutely unique entertainment experience. He will no doubt be mixing choreographed dance moves as a backdrop to his hits, as well as debuting new material from his upcoming third album, news of which will be circulated soon.

Opening the night will be Oscar, the latest signing to our publishing arm, whose irresistible pop songs and rich baritone already look likely to fast track him from bedroom artist to superstar. We will also be announcing very special guests closer to the event.

Our aim is for an emotional and special night spent with our artists, fans of our artists, friends and family.

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow at 9am here and here (no booking).

LUCKYNUMBER BIRTHDAY FLYER 02

FTSE – Blood On My Hands

‘Blood On My Hands’ will be released on 15th June 2015, and is the first track taken from FTSE’s anticipated debut album, due for release late this Summer.  Premiered on i_D who said “his brutally honest lyrics and anti-capitalist musings are self-deprecating anthems for modern society, topped with – as all the best things are – catchy poppy choruses”

FTSE is Sam Manville’s producer-artist-polemical guise, previously self-described as ‘one Man, one MPC, one cracked version of Logic and one blurred vision’.  Now, with Blood On My Hands, the vision is clear, a comment on the exploitation behind consumerism that is so rarely acknowledged (“silver, gold, gas, oil and coal / I got blood on my hands and all over my home”).

FTSE, with full band, will play London’s Electrowerkz on 26th May and Reading/Leeds Festival, Radio 1Xtra Stage across the August Bank holiday.  Tickets for Electrowerkz are available here.

Christian Rich – High feat Vince Staples and Bia

Christian Rich, AKA DJ and production duo and twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Hassan, today share ‘HIGH‘, a new collaboration featuring Vince Staples and Bia, who is newly into the Pharell/I Am Other crew. Thanks to Pitchfork for premiering the track.

The duo said themselves of the collaboration: “Ever since we came together on Earl Sweatshirt’s album Doris, we’ve been close with Vince. So we made this to expand on new sounds and ideas with him. It felt right to bring in Bia who is now a part of Pharrell, who is family to us.”

Christian Rich recently contributed to #1 Billboard albums for Drake, J Cole and Childish Gambino, as well as producing 4 tracks for Earl Sweatshirt‘s #1 Rap Billboard album, ‘Doris’.  They are also designers of clothing and have a sunglasses collab with LGR from Rome and are starting a new collab with Mark McNairy soon.

More exciting news will be coming shortly on their next official release.
